We will read when the bell rings.
Today we will be taking a look at your summary skills. There are a few steps to take before we can do this:
- Open the "California Drought" article by Paul Rogers by clicking on the link. This will take you to the article in Google Drive that is view only, which means you cannot edit it. The catch is that you need to be able to edit it.
- Click on File, then Make A Copy. This will give you a version that you can edit.
- Your challenge is to read the article and highlight the six most important points that the article makes. This number should be familiar to you. Make your choices count. (It may be a good idea to read the whole article once before you make any highlights.)
- When you are finished, discuss your choices with your table, and see if you can answer this question:
What is the main idea of the article?
Be prepared to share what your table decides.
