Article of the Week: Newsela Articles:

• There are three new articles assigned to you in Newsela. One is about the volcano in Hawaii, another is about events in Korea, and the third is about students using digital devices for cheating. 
• Read at least TWO of them and take the quiz in Newsela. 
• Sign in with your district Google account.
• You may need to go to "Binder" to find your assigned articles.
• Read two of the assigned articles. 
• Click "open activities" then click on the lightbulb to take the quizzes. 
• Write about ONE of of the articles in your English Journal. Use the normal response to an AOW. 
• First paragraph, summarize the article. 
• Second paragraph, say what you think about the situation. 

If you are not here today you are still responsible for the Newsela Articles and writing about one of them in your English Journal. 

Reminders/Catch up list: 

• Extreme Sports Essay: Are you done? Have you done the reflection questions at the end of the doc? 
• Is your book review done? (It may have been graded already, check power school.)
• Have you chosen books for #11 and #12? Have you started reading them? Due dates are posted near the clock. (Remember to check out books you borrow.)
• Poe/Laughton Essay: Do you need to revise and request a regrade? 
• Have you been absent? Did you read the blog for the days you missed? 

Note: Mrs. R is off campus today. Remain calm. She will be back tomorrow. Ms. Love and Ms. Buschor will be here with Ms. Creighton.
